It’s Thanksgiving week, one of my favorite holidays! I love any excuse to sit back and eat good food with family. There’s nothing better than taking a break from life and connecting with the people that you care about.
Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday to slow down and reflect on all the things to be grateful for (there’s always something to be grateful for). Being grateful is something that I practice every day and having a whole day full of blessings and more reasons to be grateful for is something that I am all about!
I love decorating my home for the holidays and sometimes decorating can get a little expensive. So I am super excited to share this very easy budget friendly fall banner home decor that took just a few dollar store supplies and less than 30 minutes!
So without further ado, let’s jump into this very easy fall banner DIY!
Supplies
Faux mapleleaves
Twine or string wire
Scissors
Hot Glue
Glitter & Mod Podge – Optional
I got all my supplies at Dollar Tree except for the glitter and only because I already had some glitter at home. I wanted to add some extra glitter and shine to the leaves for a more festive look. But feel free to skip this part if you do not have glitter on hand.
Using the Mod Podge I painted the leaves with a thin layer and added the glitter on top. I only did this to a few leaves because of the fall out.
Using the twine measure out where your banner will be hanging and secure in place with some push pins.
Crafty Tip: If your banner will be hanging high like mine, secure first to an area that you can reach and move it into place one it’s done.
Measure out how long you want your banner to hang and use that as a guide for the rest of your banner. I cut 8 – 12” pieces of twine to glue my leaves onto.
Add hot glue to about ¾ to the back top of the leave and add your twine.
Continue adding leaves until you have about an inch and a half left of twine. I added 3 leaves to each twine but feel free to make yours longer.
I tied each string to the banner using a simple knot and continued adding from outside in and spaced evenly.
And that’s it tie the rest of your fall leave strings and set in place. This DIY took me less than 30 minutes and I love how it turned out. This is a great last minute DIY if you are hosting Thanksgiving or just to decorate your home for the fall.
